West City Construction are a family owned and operated civil construction company specialising in all facets of civil works. Our expertise also extends to design, build and financing of land developments and commercial construction delivery. Our specialty is the advanced thinking, planning and construction of larger difficult civil works that require specialised logistics, planning, equipment and personnel.
Len Ireland formed the company in 1983 (then trading as Cameron Ireland Ltd).
Today, operating as West City Construction Ltd, the company is owned and operated by Len’s son Brett Ireland.
We undertake work valued from several thousand through to complex multi-million dollar projects. We offer clients a low overhead structure, competitive margin and the advantages of personal and honest service from the company director who has a reputation for taking on the more difficult jobs. While our business is primarily based in Auckland, we service client requirements throughout New Zealand.

West City Construction cuts, fills and removes approximately 300,000 cubic metres of earthworks per year. Projects include Belgium Rd Subdivision, Ararimu Bulk Earthworks, Karepiro Dr Development, Quail Dr, Kyle Rd, Point Ridge subdivision, and many more.
The natural or artificial removal of surface and sub surface water.
West City Construction lays 10 kilometres of pipework per year, laying pipes from 100mm to 2000mm. Systems include concrete pipes, PVC pipes, polythylene pipes, storage chambers and filter systems and thrusted lines. Projects include Sturges Main Trunk Sewer, Bethlehem Rising Main Sewer, Birmingham Road SW Upgrade and American Samoa Tafuna Plains Sewage.
Process of building and maintaining roading and land transport infrastructure.
West City Construction constructs 32,000 square metres of pavement per year. Subdivision works involve preparation of subgrade, lime stabilising, placing of aggregates, kerbing, hotmix and Chipseal road surfacing and concrete pavement . West City have completed numerous roading projects including the construction of major urban roads such as Central Park Drive, Seal Extension, Rural Road Rehabilitation and much more.
